A visual artist and illustrator, born in 1990, Istanbul. She is currently living and working in London. She received her BA in Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design from Sabancı University and MA in Illustration and Visual Media from UAL, London College of Communication.
Before moving to London to earn her master's degree, she worked as a graphic designer/illustrator in Istanbul. After she had moved to London, she changed her career path progressing in illustration. She was represented by Made in Arts London, Creative Debuts, Chrom-Art, took place in different fairs and exhibitions sucj as ‘London Illustration Fair, 2016’, ‘First Thursdays - UAL Takeover, 2017 ’, ‘Tribe 17 - International Art Fest’. She displayed her works in the exhibition ‘Lost and Found’ with a collaboration of UCLH (University College London Hospital). Her first solo exhibition titled ‘Are You In Love?’ took place at Galeri Miz in Istanbul from December 2018 to January 2018, while she had an other solo exhibition titled ‘Love Me, Love Me’ at Shipton Street Gallery in London.
Her works were exhibited in group exhibitions both in Istanbul and Ankara. Her works were displayed at Galeri Miz's booth at Contemporary Istanbul in 2018. She recently exhibited her paper works at ‘Paper. A Selection of Turkish Contemporary Art’ at Pilevneli Gallery, Art Ankrara Contemporary Art Fair (represented by Galeri FE ), Step Istanbul Contemporary Art Fair (represented by Gallery Büyükdere 35 and Paper Street Co.) and at a group exhibition named 'Lost In The Highway in Soho House Istanbul.
Most of her works walk hand-in-hand with text and poetry, predominantly written by herself, while some of her works refer to metaphors for the beloved ones in Turkish classical poetry. She aims to compare the way people used to experience/see these feelings in the past and now, while aiming to communicate with people on the fact that healing is possible. The inspiration behind her work is nature, poetry and human psychology and glimpses of oriental embroidery of Turkish and Eastern cultures. Intense feelings, intimacy, purity and healing are the themes, which she often visualizes with abstracted or semi abstracted forms.
She works on canvas with acrylic painting or paper which she embosses with an etching press. She also works with pencil, ink, digital painting and creating photo collages that are printed on either paper or silk fabric.
